Slowing Down To Keep Up?

The title of this blog may be a bit confusing. After all is it possible to slow down but actually go faster? Consider the following. Our business now travels at the speed of the Internet. You're connected, I'm connected and we're all moving at warp speed!

Yet do you ever want to put on the brakes? Maybe just curl up in bed under the covers? If you're feeling overwhelmed at the break neck speed of business and your life take heart because there are solutions. Yet you must make time for them. Some call it checking out. Others call it needing some space or time alone. To some it may be prayer or meditation. Understand the name isn't all that important yet the practice is.

Schedule a time daily when you can be alone for 20 to 30 minutes. For me mornings are best because the house is quiet. Close your eyes and try to relax for the first minute. Prayer and reading positive affirmations work best for me but there are others they may better suited to your personality. The objective is to do what is needed to quiet your mind. If images, worries, or business schedules keep popping into your mind practice making them go away each day.

Once you reach a quiet peaceful state, you will notice that your daily family concerns and business challenges begin to resolve themselves. You can attract everything you need into your life by simply spending some time each day with yourself. It may feel awkward at first but you will soon realize the potential of this powerful resource within you.

Go to your daily planner now. Write in a block of time for each day this week to spend with yourself. Now be sure and keep your appointment!
